Jewish Museum in Prague

Project Judaica Foundation has been working with the Jewish Museum in Prague since 1979. With the fall of Communism and the official return of the ownership of an extraordinary collection of Judaica to the Czech Jewish Community, our ties have grown more extensive and cooperative. From this collection of Judaica, the Foundation created the Precious Legacy Exhibition, which was co-sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, and toured ten cities in the U.S. and Canada over three years. The exhibition book and Seder plate reproductions remain for sale by the Foundation.

Project Judaica remains committed to continuation of a high level of support for the Jewish Museum in Prague. The challenges continue to assist in upgrading the museums' capabilities to maintain vast collections with the most modern techniques available. Creating and maintaining a modern museum computer network to track each important part of its collections is also a vital goal.

The names of the victims of the Holocaust from the Czech Lands are being placed on the walls of the restored Pinkus Synagogue in Prague. Helping to raise the necessary funds is also a central goal.

Periodic carefully planned educational tours of Jewish Prague are organized by this Foundation with a few personally lead by the President of the foundation, Mark Talisman, who with his wife, organized the Precious Legacy exhibition over 12 years ago. Inquire for further information about the next tour, should you be interested.
