The Hebrew and Roman faced clocks adorn the offices of both the Jewish
Community Federation of the Czech Republic and the Prague Jewish Community
today. Built in the 16th Century by the then Jewish mayor of "Josefov"
(or Jewish Quarter), this lovely edifice has been the focus of Jewish communal
life throughout the centuries

including the times in which the Jewish community was under enormous pressure to leave Prague.
This view of the two clock faces show the unusual Hebrew numerals along with the more traditional Roman face. While these two clocks operate in opposite directions it is said in Prague that they get to the same time and the melodic bells ring in perfect unison!
